GROWTH, AWARD AND ACCLAIM SET SEAL ON SUCCESSFUL FIRST YEAR FOR PRIVATE CLIENT SOLICITORS

One of the brightest new names in the North West’s legal industry has completed a remarkable first year by winning a prestigious national award and cementing a place among the law profession’s elite.

Private Client Solicitors has been named the Emerging Law Firm of the Year in awards organised by research company Chambers and Partners to find the top legal advisors to high net worth individuals in the UK and overseas.

The firm is also the only one based in the North West to make Chambers’ 14-strong list of ‘National Leaders’ offering private client services to wealthy clients.

Its three partners are also singled out in Chambers’ rankings of individual private client practitioners in and around Manchester.

Managing Partner Tasnim Khalid has described how the recognition had set the seal on a “tremendous” first year.

“We all feel incredibly proud that a firm which only launched in September last year has drawn such a positive response from clients and peers alike.

“Our objective was to create a specialist firm made up of very capable individuals providing the best possible support to a range of individuals and organisations.

“It is so very heartening, however, to see our reputation spread both to those judging the Chambers’ high net worth awards and those compiling its rankings.

“To be some considered alongside some very well established firms as a ‘National Leader’ is a mark of how far we have come and how quickly we have done so.

“The praise fully justifies the efforts of those who have contributed to our early months. Even as we continue to grow, we will remain committed to the values and the hard work which has generated our progress.”

Private Client Solicitors – which has its headquarters at Centurion House, in Manchester city centre – was set up by Ms Khalid after several years leading the Private Client department at one of the North West’s biggest full-service law practices.

It made waves with a series of senior hires, most notably Senior Partner Paul Gotch and Partner Nicola Walker.

Analysis by Chambers and Partners’ researchers for its ranking of lawyers working on behalf of the high net worth community led to Private Client Solicitors being shortlisted for two awards.

Despite losing out in the overall Private Client Law Firm category, it overcame two London practices to claim the Emerging Law Firm title.

Judges were impressed with how Private Client Solicitors had “gone from a standing start to one of the top teams in the North West in less than a year”.

It also completed a unique double by becoming the only North West-based firm both to be considered a National Leader in its field and to feature in Band One of Chambers’ Private Client regional classification.

Ms Khalid was among five practitioners in the North West to be included in Band One for lawyers, while Mr Gotch made Band Three and Ms Walker was identified as an ‘Up and Coming’ talent.

Ms Khalid has described how the firm had already become the “go-to private client practice” for some of the region’s leading landowners, entrepreneurs, media and sports personalities.

In addition to their Chambers’ success, Private Client Solicitors has also been tagged as a ‘Firm To Watch’ by the UK’s other principal legal rankings composed by Legal 500.

Its rapid increase in work and employee roster has also seen it become Manchester’s largest specialist Private Client team with 20 employees.
