The successful launch of one of the newest names in the North West’s legal industry has been recognised with a brace of nominations for prestigious national awards.
Less than a year after opening its doors, Private Client Solicitors has been shortlisted in two categories at the Chambers High Net Worth Awards.
The firm is one of three in the running for the Emerging Firm/Practice category and among five in with a chance of being named Private Client Team of the Year.
Founder and Managing Partner Tasnim Khalid has said that the nominations underline the “astonishing” progress made by Private Client Solicitors.
“To find ourselves on the shortlists with firms which have long been regarded as the country’s leading professional advisors to wealthy individuals is a real fillip.
“For that to happen within our first year is a wonderful surprise which I think underlines the tremendously fast and very capable start that we have made.
“We determined at the outset to offer the very highest quality of work and the demand for the support which we provide has quickly found favour – not only in the North West where we’re based but across the rest of the UK and even overseas.
“Everyone within the firm has worked incredibly hard to provide our early momentum in a way which has reinforced those standards and burnished our reputation.”
The Chambers High Net Worth Awards have been staged annually since 2018, although this year’s prizegiving ceremony will be the first in three years to be held in person due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The shortlists are based entirely on the research conducted by Chambers and Partners’ own researchers for rankings identifying the “leading and most dedicated lawyers and law firms for international private wealth”.
Organisers have described how being shortlisted for a Chambers’ award is to be “at the pinnacle of the profession”.
Winners in each of the 11 categories will be named in a ceremony at the Science Museum, in London, on the 21st of July.
Ms Khalid outlined how the double nomination capped a remarkable few months for Private Client Solicitors.
The demand for its services meant that it had recruited its fifteenth member of staff less than six months after launching, rapidly making it Manchester’s largest specialist Private Client team.
It was set up in Manchester by Tasnim Khalid after several years leading the Private Client department at one of the region’s biggest full-service law practices.
She explained that the firm had already become the “go-to private client practice” for some of the North West’s leading landowners, entrepreneurs, media and sports personalities.
In addition to Ms Khalid – whom the Chambers and Partners classification has described as “exemplary” – Private Client Solicitors numbers Paul Gotch as Senior Partner and Nicola Walker as Partner.
Mr Gotch – who represents many of the North West’s high net worth community, including entrepreneurs. media personalities and elite sports professionals – is a member of both the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE).
Before joining Private Client Solicitors, Mrs Walker had featured prominently in the Chambers UK High Net Worth Guide for three consecutive years.
