Job Title: Office Junior
Reporting to: Office Manager
Location: Manchester
Pay: £10 per hour

 An exciting opportunity has arisen at our friendly Manchester office for an Office Junior to join our hard working and committed support at PCS.  It is an ideal opportunity for a law student to be working in a legal office environment part-time.  Although this is a support role, we are proud of our track record career progression at PCS and many members of our support teams have progressed into more senior admin roles and fee earning roles.

1. Job Purpose:

1.1 To assist all members of the practice on an adhoc basis as and when required

1.2 Conduct a variety of tasks to include general administrative tasks and support, answering the telephone, filing, printing, scanning, binding, photocopying and assist with all general office duties etc

1.3 We would expect your role to develop as experience allows with the balance of the role remaining flexible, based on the mix of work at a given time.

2. Responsibilities and Duties:

2.1 Collecting, opening and distributing the post.

2.2 Delivering/collecting items by hand for/from other solicitors/nearby businesses.

2.3 Photocopying and Scanning as directed.

2.4 To administer filing, which will include daily filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with company procedure.

2.5 Maintaining office systems, including data management and filing

2.6 Project work including: developing and maintaining a data base of wills and deeds, locating, retrieving and filing from the system as required.

2.7 Typing of information from manual documents or digital dictation and voice recognition upon direction of the Partners

2.8 Carry out miscellaneous general office duties during the course of the day as reasonably requested and any other ad-hoc duties.

3. Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:

3.1 A commitment to excellent client care and enthusiasm for legal work.

3.2 Excellent IT skills particularly with experience in Word, Excel and Outlook.

3.3 Ability to communicate well orally and in writing, including dealing directly with clients when required.

3.4 Attention to detail.

3.8 Able to identify problems, complaints and risk management.
