Paul is the firm’s Senior Partner and provides specialist advice
to clients across all aspects of Private Client law.

Paul primarily advises high net worth clients including wealthy families (across the generations), business owners, media personalities and sport professionals on their estate planning requirements.

Paul also advises elderly and vulnerable clients; and provides specialist estate planning advice to clients who are awarded large personal injury and clinical negligence settlements.

Paul acts as a professional Executor, Attorney and Trustee for a number of his clients; and works closely other industry professionals (including financial advisors, accountants and other solicitors) to ensure that his clients are provided with well-rounded and holistic advice.

Paul is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), he is a full accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) and he is a member of the Law Society’s Private Client Section.

Paul’s experience includes:

  • Advising on the creation of Wills, on estate and succession planning opportunities and providing Inheritance Tax planning advice;
  • Advising business owners on succession planning, including advice on pre and post-business sale tax planning opportunities;
  • Advising on the creation, administration and taxation of Personal Injury Trusts;
  • Advising on Family Investment Companies;
  • Advising on the protection of means tested state and Local Authority benefits and providing litigation support to a client’s Personal Injury or Clinical Negligence solicitor during the course of a personal injury or clinical negligence claim;
  • Advising on the creation, administration and taxation of Trusts; including Bare Trusts, lifetime Discretionary or Life Interest Trusts, Will Trusts, Wealth Preservation Trusts, Vulnerable Beneficiary Trusts, and Declarations of Trust;
  • Advising on the creation and registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney, on the registration and use of Enduring Powers of Attorney and making applications to the Court of Protection;
  • Advising Executors and Administrators on the estate administration process, on their fiduciary duties, on making an application for a Grant of Probate or Letters of Administration, and providing assistance with the full administration of an estate. Paul has particular expertise advising on multi-million pound estates, on cross-border Probate matters (including double taxation and claims for unilateral relief) and advising on Deeds of Variation.
