Work Experience
We are delighted to be able to offer a work experience placement for A-Level students, and both undergraduate and postgraduate law students. You will join our administration staff in the office, and it is designed to provide you with an immersive experience into Private Client law in the office environment.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of Private Client Law and to meet people from across the firm such as our fee-earners and administration staff. You will gain practical experience by completing a variety of administrative tasks; which will give you the opportunity to experience the day-to-day environment of our firm. This is an excellent opportunity to gain real world experience in a professional legal environment and to build your communication and administrative skills.
About our firm
Our firm offers private client services to clients from the UK and overseas and we have extensive experience in relation to:
· Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Court of Protection
· Shariah Wills and Estate Planning
· Probates and Probate disputes
· Creating and maintenance of new and existing Trusts
· Tax Advice
· Estate Planning Requirements
· Agricultural property and landed estates
· Pensions and Life Policy Planning
· Mental Capacity law
· Philanthropy
Criteria
We do not require you to have any previous experience in a law firm, as our work experience placement is designed to provide students with the opportunity to build on important employability skills. We are however looking for students with strong written and verbal communication skills, and experience in using Microsoft Office programmes is essential.
We are ideally looking for A-Level students who are studying law or are interested in moving on to a law degree, along with undergraduate students studying for a law degree and postgraduate students studying towards the LPC/SQE qualification. If you are not studying law but you are still interested in joining us for a work experience placement, please explain your interest in the accompanying cover letter in your application.
